LJ’s Truck – 1982 GMC

Not long after the opening of the 306 Black Rock Tpke location in Fairfield, a customer called and asked if it were possible to have The Weenie Truck at their party. We knew immediately that this was a great idea. What we didn’t know was what an amazing opportunity that idea would become. The only problem at that time was that the Original Weenie Truck was not in operational condition; it was in need of an extensive renovation. So we decided to build an exact replica of the original, just a little bit bigger. Within a few months, Lorin and his father, Mr. P., located a 1982 GMC, Tom’s Snack Truck. We immediately got to work and within a year transformed it into the 2nd generation Super Duper truck.

This truck actually ran when we purchased it. We used the original motor for the first couple of years until it quit. Unfortunately, it was on the way to party in Norwalk! Mr. P. saved the day and pulled us to the party with his pickup and a rope.
